The Benefits Of An Elder Care Coordinator

Elaine Spicher is an Elder Care Coordinator at Kreisher Marshall and Associates, LLC.  and leads the Life Care Planning Program. Elaine’s education is rooted in social work.  She provides advocacy, support, guidance, and assistance to her clients and their families, helping them navigate every stage of the challenges associated with aging or a significant medical diagnosis.   Elaine has over 25 years of experience providing social services in the hospital setting, long-term care setting, and community outreach.

An Elder Care Coordinator is typically a social worker, nurse, or a degreed individual that has years of experience working with seniors.  The ECC provides guidance, support, and assistance to each client as they navigate the elder care continuum.  As we age, especially once diagnosed with a chronic or significant illness, navigating the health care system, finding quality care and support needed in the home can be a daunting task and can be overwhelming to the point of not knowing where to turn.  That is where an ECC shines.  An ECC becomes the point person for the family that coordinates your access to services. They become the person that you need on the other end of the phone when you are having a difficult day and can provide valuable ideas and suggestions to help you get through the crisis that arises.  An ECC has the extensive knowledge about the availability, quality, and cost of services and resources in your community.  The ECC becomes your advocate, navigator, coordinator, resource, and sounding board that surrounds their clients with a team that is there for you no matter what curve ball life throws at you.  Please reach out to KMA at (570) 784-5211 to learn more about how an Elder Care Coordinator and a Life Care Plan can be there to help you navigate the complexities that arise as we age and we or a loved one face a serious health challenge or new diagnosis.
